Ingredients
- 3/4 cup whole oats
- 2 cups almond milk or water
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 4 dates
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of cinnamon
- A pinch of nutmeg
- 2 tbsp almonds
- 2 tbsp granola
- A few red fruits or seasonal fruits
- A little maple syrup
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the almond milk or water, oats, chia seeds.
- Add the finely chopped dates, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Stir with a spoon over medium heat.
- Once it boils, simmer for 7-8 minutes over very low heat, stirring the ingredients constantly.
- The cooking time varies depending on the type of oats, whether they are whole or cut, from 5 to10 minutes.
- When the oats soften and the mixture thickens, remove from the heat. At this stage, if desired, you can add a little more milk and stir to achieve a creamier consistency.
- Garnish with seasonal fruits or nuts.
- As an extra sweetener, drizzle with a little honey or maple syrup.
