Everything you’ll need for this ham and veggie pizza
- 500 g self-raising flour
- 125 g butter (at room temperature)
- 1 tsp salt
- 200 g lukewarm milk
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 2 pinches of sugar
For the Topping:
- 2 tomatoes, peeled, deseeded, and finely chopped (or 3 tbsp tomato sauce)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- A pinch of salt
- 2 cups shredded yellow cheese mix
- 6 slices ham (or cooked turkey)
Instructions:
Making the Dough:
- In a bowl, combine the butter, salt, milk, vinegar, and sugar. Mix well.
- Gradually add the self-raising flour while stirring with a spoon or kneading by hand.
- Knead until the dough is soft, elastic, and easy to work with.
- Lightly oil a 34-36 cm (13-14 inch) shallow baking pan.
- Spread the dough evenly with your fingers to cover the entire base of the pan.
Add the Toppings:
- Mix the chopped tomatoes (or tomato sauce) with olive oil, oregano, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
- Spread the cold tomato mixture evenly over the dough.
- Layer the ham slices and sprinkle with the shredded cheese.
- Optional: Add fresh mushrooms, bell peppers, or any other vegetable you like.
- Preheat the oven to 230°C (446°F).
- Place the pizza on the lowest rack of the oven.
- Bake for about 30 minutes until the crust is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
