Recipe of the Day: Baked Apples with Walnuts and Raisins

Serve these baked apples warm or cool, accompanied by ice cream, yogurt, or whipped cream.

Everything you’ll need to make these baked apples with walnuts and raisins

  • 4 apples
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp walnuts, chopped
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 30 g butter
  • 3/4 cup water or apple juice

Instructions:

  1. Wash the apples thoroughly.
  2. Using an apple corer or a sharp knife, remove the cores to create a hollow space inside the apples for the filling. Leave some flesh at the bottom to hold the filling.
  3. In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, raisins, walnuts, and cinnamon until combined.
  4. Divide the filling mixture evenly among the apples.
  5. Place a small piece of butter on top of each apple.
  6. Arrange the apples in a baking dish or ovenproof tray.
  7. Pour the water or apple juice into the dish.
  8. Bake the apples in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) on the middle rack for about 35 minutes, or until the apples are slightly tender and the sugar has caramelized.
  9. Once out of the oven, spoon some of the syrupy juices from the dish over the apples.

Enjoy!
