Everything you’ll need to make these baked apples with walnuts and raisins
- 4 apples
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp walnuts, chopped
- 2 tbsp raisins
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 30 g butter
- 3/4 cup water or apple juice
Instructions:
- Wash the apples thoroughly.
- Using an apple corer or a sharp knife, remove the cores to create a hollow space inside the apples for the filling. Leave some flesh at the bottom to hold the filling.
- In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, raisins, walnuts, and cinnamon until combined.
- Divide the filling mixture evenly among the apples.
- Place a small piece of butter on top of each apple.
- Arrange the apples in a baking dish or ovenproof tray.
- Pour the water or apple juice into the dish.
- Bake the apples in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) on the middle rack for about 35 minutes, or until the apples are slightly tender and the sugar has caramelized.
- Once out of the oven, spoon some of the syrupy juices from the dish over the apples.
Enjoy!
