Moments after Biden announced he was dropping out of the 2024 race, Republican candidate Donald Trump said he should resign from the presidency as well. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Biden “wasn’t fit to run for president and is certainly not fit to serve.”
Trump also said in a phone call to CNN that he views Vice President Kamala Harris as easier to defeat than Biden.
Earlier, President Biden said he was ending his presidential run, after failing to quell a Democratic rebellion against his candidacy following a catastrophic debate performance. He endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him.
