U.S. President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated video on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Tuesday night, depicting a surreal vision of “Trump Gaza”—a version of the territory wiped clean of its Palestinian reality and replaced with skyscrapers and luxury beachside lounges.

The video begins with a computer-generated depiction of Gaza, a simulacrum of the devastation it faces after 15 months of Israeli bombardment. It then shifts to a bizarre, AI-generated montage featuring Trump partying in a nightclub with a woman in a belly-dancing costume, along with golden Trump statues and balloons. There are also appearances by an Elon Musk look-alike eating hummus and later throwing U.S. dollar bills into the air. The video is set to a techno beat with lyrics that declare: “Trump Gaza is finally here. Trump Gaza shining bright, golden future, brand new light.” It ends with a shot of Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu drinking colorful cocktails by a pool next to a sign that reads “Trump Gaza.”

Since the war began on October 7, 2023, after Hamas launched deadly attacks on southern Israel, most of Gaza’s two million residents have been displaced at least once. According to Gaza health officials, more than 47,000 Palestinians have been killed in the conflict.

Trump has suggested that the U.S. should take ownership of Gaza, he has stated “You’re talking about a million and a half people, and we just clean out that whole thing,” and has floated the idea of turning the enclave into the “Riviera of the Middle East.” The AI-generated video appears to be a fever-dream visualization of these suggestions.

Both Hamas and the West Bank Palestinian Authority, as well as key neighboring nations, including Egypt and Jordan, have all condemned Trump’s proposal.

Trump did not comment on the video or disclose its origin.
