NATO on Monday released videos of member-states’ fighter planes participating in the annual Ramstein Flag 25 exercise throughout Europe, the Euro-Atlantic alliance’s biggest annual such air maneuver.

In the videos, Hellenic Air Force (HAI) F-16s are shown taking off from the air base and flying in formation, with other warplanes include F-35s, Typhoons, Rafales and F-18s.

Ramstein Flag 25 was planned by NATO’s AIRCOM command and includes some 90 aircraft – including air tankers and AWACs – from 15 member-states operating from 12 air bases throughout Europe, with Leeuwarden in the Netherlands serving as the hub.

The simulated scenario for this year’s exercise revolves around a potential invasion of an alliance member-state’s territory, and the activation of NATO’s Article 5.
