The weather in Greece will start off generally mild on Tuesday, but clouds will roll in from midday in the west of the country and eventuallyl over the mainland and northern Aegean.
The weather remains unpredictable but to a lesser degree than over the past few weeks, where Greece experienced record lightening strikes and flash floods in several regions.
Local showers are expected around midday and in the afternoon in the mountainous areas of the mainland and Crete, mainly in the west and south in Epirus, western Central Greece, and the interior of the Peloponnese, with temporary thunderstorms in the mountains of Epirus.
The stormy phenomena will cease by the afternoon, and the weather will improve during the evening hours.
The temperature will rise slightly, reaching 32–34°C in the mainland, and locally up to 35°C in some areas of central Greece. Maximum temperatures on the islands will reach 30–32°C.
Winds will blow from the north in the seas, at 2–4 Beaufort in the Ionian Sea and at similar strengths in the Aegean, stronger in the eastern Aegean where their intensity will locally reach 5–6 Beaufort.
In Attica, clouds will develop from the morning, becoming denser at midday, when there is a possibility of a few local showers in the western part of the region. The temperature will range from 22–33°C, with variable winds in the surrounding sea areas at 2–4 Beaufort.
In Thessaloniki, temporarily increased clouds are expected during the day. The temperature will range from 23–34°C, with variable winds turning southerly in the afternoon at 2–4 Beaufort.
