The European Commission has approved the renewal – for yet another year – of an “express visa” program for Turkish nationals interested in visiting 12 Greek islands in the eastern Aegean.
The renewal comes into effect on April 1, 2025.
The fast-track visa will have a duration of seven days. It will be issued at port entries on the islands of Kalymnos, Kastellorizo, Kos, Lesbos (Lesvos), Leros, Limnos, Rhodes, Samos, Symi, Chios (Hios), as well as two new destinations: Patmos and Samothrace.
In a statement, the Commission welcomed the successful implementation of the program over the past year, while acknowledging what it termed as its positive contribution to contacts between the two peoples.
