Some of the most popular ferry destinations around the world were the Greek islands in the Cyclades such as Mykonos, Paros, Naxos, Santorini, and Heraklion in Crete, according to online ferry booking services “Ferry Scanner“.
The platform, which has become the go-to search and booking platform for ferry enthusiasts said over 860,000 trips were made through its site last year, with 640 ships filled with travelers from 181 countries worldwide. Travelers visited 400 destinations in 25 countries.
Ferry Scanner noted that passengers book their ferry tickets through the platform an average of 25 days before their trip, and 2.69 people per booking typically travel with their friends or family.
According to a statement released by the platform, the site processed over 380,000 customer inquiries on both their customer support platforms and social media, with an average waiting time of just over 1 minute, earning 4.6/5 stars on Trustpilot and 4.4/5 stars on Google reviews.
