Five Greek Beaches in Top 10 with ‘Bluest’ Waters in the World

The top beach is in Albania

Five Greek beaches were included among the top 10 “bluest” waters on the planet, according to a list compiled by CV Villas presenting the 30 best shores.

The London-based travel agency, a subsidiary of Kuoni Travel, used a group of researchers initially tasked with compiling a list of the most popular and beautiful beaches in the world.

In the next step, the team produced a color analysis of the selected beaches involving the capture of unprocessed photos of the beaches from Google Maps, using a dropper tool to determine the exact shade of the water and cross-referencing this shade with the official bluest shade of blue.

Two Greek beaches, Bouka Beach in Messinia and Kassiopi in Corfu took second and third spot, respectively, with a beach on the Albanian Riviera, Pasqyra, (Mirror Beach) taking the top spot.

The other three Greek beaches in the top ten list included, Voulisma Beach, also known as “Golden Sand” (Agios Nikolaos, Crete) 6th, Foki Beach, (Kefalonia) 7th, and Ombros Gialos, (Chania) 9th.

The other beaches completing the top ten list were: Plage de la Vernette (France) 4th, Kaputas Beach (Turkey) 5th, Praia do Carvalho (Portugal) 8thand Los Lances Beach (Spain) 10th.
