The scenic town seamlessly blends tradition with a modern culture of hospitality and is a favorite destination for both local and foreign travelers who prefer the quainter places.
The score was based on aggregating more than 309 million verified customer reviews on Booking.com. Destinations on the list were selected on the basis of tallying an above-average number of properties with outstanding reviews for hospitality, as stated in the accompanying announcement.

Focusing on the Greek town, the report presents Ermoupolis as the “stunning capital of Syros”, with the authors of this year’s Booking.com report noting that what makes Ermoupolis unique compared to other Cycladic cities is its Venetian heart and exceptional neoclassical architecture painted in attractive pastel shades, making this hillside town a captivating sight on its own.
The authors go on to say the visitors can wander through narrow alleys and winding streets, enjoying beautiful sights such as Miaouli Square, a historic marble square in the heart of Ermoupolis, and the city hall with its 15-meter staircase leading to the central entrance of the building. To explore more of Syros, renting a car is recommended to discover the island’s incredible beaches and picturesque villages with numerous taverns to savor traditional Greek cuisine, the website suggests.
It is worth noting that Greece ranked 2nd in the top 10 most hospitable destinations in the world last year, with the Epirus region, while the first place was occupied by La Rioja in Spain.
