Visitors to Athens will have the chance to explore the Greek capital with free guided tours starting Saturday, January 18 by choosing the Athens Walks Program.

The Athens Walks program is organized by the Municipality of Athens and implemented by Action Plus, a social cooperative established in 2014 that enables access to culture and history through seminars, guided tours and excursions in collaboration with a team of certified tour guides.

The “Athens Walks” on offer include tours of archaeological sites, museums and iconic neighborhoods. The guided tours are free (not including admission costs to museums and archaeological sites) and open to all.

According to the Municipality of Athens, the initiative is designed to promote inclusion and foster social and cultural equality.

The first guided tour of the year kicks off on Saturday, January 18, featuring visits to key landmarks, including:

– Byzantine and Christian Museum

– National Glyptotheque

– National Art Gallery

– National Archaeological Museum of Athens
