TUI: Greek Tourism to Reach a Historic High in 2024

Crete, Rhodes, and Kos are our clients' favorites, ranking 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the preferences of German holidaymakers," noted the TUI representative, highlighting that the company expects an increase in demand and is continuously expanding its portfolio.

The TUI tourist group executive Aage Dünhaupt on Friday emphasized that “Greece is heading for its best performance of all time for the 2024 tourist season,” in comments to state news agency AMNA.

He stressed that Crete, Rhodes, and Kos remain top destinations for the company’s clients. TUI, which is starting its summer season earlier than ever for Greece this year, anticipates a positive summer in the Mediterranean, especially in the latter.

Regarding Germans holiday-makers’ willingness to take vacations amid economic recession in their country, Dünhaupt stated that there is no reluctance and that reservations for the summer of 2024 are above the pre-pandemic levels of 2919 predicting “a good summer in 2024 in the Mediterranean and especially in Greece.”

Crete, Rhodes, and Kos are our clients’ favorites, ranking 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the preferences of German holidaymakers,” the TUI executive said, highlighting that the company expects an increase in demand and is continuously expanding its portfolio.

Illustrating the favorable climate is the fact that TUI is starting its summer season in Greece earlier than ever this year, with the first flights arriving in Rhodes and Crete at the beginning of the Catholic Easter holidays on March 26. “Our airline will offer approximately 600 flights weekly to 26 sunny destinations, with the largest offer from Hanover and Dusseldorf, totaling 750,000 seats and 150 flights per week at each of the two airports.”
