TUI Austria says Greece is a leading destination in the 2024 summer season, stressing demand for holiday packages to the Mediterranean country has exceeded all expectations.

Gottfried Math, the CEO of TUI Austria, stated, ‘We have never seen such numbers,’ referring to the demand for Greece. The tourism season in Greece will end in November.

Turkey, Spain, Italy, Egypt, and Croatia followed in terms of demand for the summer of 2024.

It is not clear what the impact of the collapse of FTI was on the above results, but since the end of June, there has been a 10% increase in passengers in German-speaking markets, and approximately 5% may be due to the FTI bankruptcy.

TUI Austria recorded a 25% increase in bookings made in January, indicative of the pre-booking trend that prevailed this year, but last-minute bookings for the summer season were also strong.

In the medium term, TUI plans to open 600 hotels and resorts of all categories worldwide. At the same time, excellent prospects are observed in luxury vacations, with the global market valued at $140 billion and expected to grow by 11.4% by 2032.

TUI AG Group is a German leisure, travel, and tourism company; it is the largest such company in the world.
