British online media outlet The Times published its annual report picking the 16 most relaxing and unconventional Greek islands to visit in 2024.

“If you’re keen to avoid throngs of tourists there are still dozens of isles to discover that, in contrast to Santorini, Mykonos and the like, are incredibly laid-back. Whether you’re after a peaceful time on the beach or a hike in scenic countryside, you’ll find plenty of magical spots if you steer clear of cruise destinations, big resorts and social media influencers. From sleepy Cycladic gems to almost untrodden Ionian isles, these are the best quiet Greek islands,” notes the piece in The Times entitled “16 of the best quiet Greek islands”

The Times list includes:

Topping the list are the beautiful Aegina, Astypalaia for unexpected discoveries, and the mythic and legendary Lipsi. They are followed by Andros, known for its authenticity, the sunsets in Folegandros, volcanic Nisyros, Syros with its cultural heritage, and Meganisi for peaceful getaways.

The list also includes Alonissos with its magnificent marine park, Agistri, which combines city and sea, Milos with its otherworldly landscapes, Patmos with its impressive beaches, Kythera with its wild natural beauty, Kastellorizo for exploration at Greece’s edge, Serifos for couples, and delicious Sifnos with its gastronomy festival held every September.
