The picturesque and jagged coastline of Skopelos, along with its connection to “Mamma Mia,” takes center stage in Goodhousekeeping.com’s annual list of the top ten European destinations for 2025, known for their dreamlike beaches.

The popular entertainment medium, which reaches millions of travelers from the UK and USA, ranks Skopelos fourth, describing it as “the quintessential Greek island with ideal proportions, perfectly aligned with the movie Mamma Mia.”

The island boasts spiral cobblestone streets lined with white and blue houses, endless views of the shimmering Aegean Sea, seaside taverns serving fresh fish, and some of Greece’s most beautiful beaches, making it an ideal vacation spot.

The sandy beaches and secluded rocky coves are surrounded by countless pine trees that seem to touch the sea. In addition to Greece, Goodhousekeeping.com’s list includes destinations from Italy, Croatia, Morocco, Portugal, Malta, and Montenegro.

“Promoting Skopelos in international markets through original initiatives is a priority for our municipality,” said Eva Karamesini, President of the Tourism Committee of Skopelos Municipality. “For this reason, we are creating conditions to highlight both well-known and lesser-known aspects of our destination throughout the year, implementing a program of unique events that revive the connection of our island with Mamma Mia.”
