As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the tourist experience, the Greek Tourism and Digital Governance ministries announced this week the launch on June 10 of the country’s first AI-driven app  “mAiGreece”.

A key feature is its emergency service which allows users to send text messages to the Civil Protection Ministry operations center via the 112 key, complete with location of sender for immediate assistance. Guidance will also be provided to visitors who have lost their passport or wallet, among others.

mAIGreece will offer useful information on hospitals and health centers across Greece, embassies and consulates of foreign countries in Greece, police departments, Blue Flag beaches, frequently asked questions about Greece, museums and travel content from Visit Greece. The app provides information in 31 languages including English, Bulgarian, French, German, Danish, Greek, Estonian, Irish, Spanish, Italian, Croatian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Dutch, Hungarian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, Czech, Finnish, Albanian, as well as Chinese, Japanese, Turkish, Hebrew, Arabic, and Korean.

The Greek National Tourism Organization(GNTO) will be promoting the app once it is made available and Athens International Airport (AIA) will be holding a special event.

The app updates regularly and provides immediate access to important information for visitors.
