The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) on Thursday released provisional data for April 2024, revealing that tourist accommodations in Greece exceeded 6.7 million overnight stays. This figure encompasses hotels, similar establishments, campsites, and short-stay accommodations, highlighting a positive trend in the country’s tourism sector.

According to the survey, during April 2024 arrivals at tourist accommodation establishments reached almost 2,188 million, and overnight stays neared 6,760 million, an increase of 2.4% in arrivals and of 2.2% in overnight stays, respectively, when compared to the corresponding month of 2023.

Specifically, in April 2024 compared with the corresponding month of 2023, an increase of 3.5% was recorded in arrivals and of 2.6% in nights spent for non-residents, while an increase of 0.4% in arrivals and of 1.1% in nights spent was observed for residents.

The highest contribution in both arrivals and nights spent for the total of tourist accommodation establishments was observed for non-residents with 64.7% and 73.5%, respectively. The average length of stay for all types of tourist accommodation establishments during April 2024, amounted to 3.1 days.
