Far Away Travel Blog has released its inaugural list of top destinations for the 2025 travel season, with the Greek islands of Lipsi, in the eastern Aegean, securing the second place as one of the ten best spots aligning with the coming year’s emerging travel trends.

The list focuses on locations that have sparked curiosity on social media, regarding their actual existence, leading people to seek them out. It emphasizes destinations away from mass tourism and overcrowded hotspots. “We sought out places that capture the imagination and offer unique experiences,” explains the blog’s editor.

Lipsi Islands, celebrated for their idyllic beaches and crystal-clear waters comes in second only after Fulhato Island in the Maldives, known for its lush tropical foliage and absence of luxury resorts.

The travel blog emphasizes Lipsi’s 7th-century Church of Panagia tou Charou, as a remarkable site that features a unique icon of the Virgin Mary holding the crucified Jesus. Monodendri area stands out as a highlight of the island with its rugged landscape, stunning views, and a distinctive tree that defies the harsh conditions of the surrounding sea.

The blog’s stunning visuals have garnered admiration from global media outlets, with the blogger collaborating with tourism organizations worldwide.

This recognition follows a summer press visit, organized by the Lipsi Municipality, which has recently focused on inviting award-winning bloggers specializing in sustainability and ecotourism.

Additionally, a music video featuring the island of Kalypso has surpassed 300,000 views, showcasing a blend of rap and traditional island music.

“Lipsi offers a quality experience that becomes more pronounced each year through the local community’s sustainable initiatives aimed at water security and ocean protection,” says Fotis Mangos, the mayor of the island municipality.
