Greek Tourism Showcased in Tel Aviv’s IMTM Exhibition

The Israeli market ranks seventh in terms of foreign tourist arrivals in Athens for the January to July 2023 period, recording the second-highest growth rate in passenger traffic and tourist arrivals

Greece participated with a pavilion at the 30th edition of the International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) held in Tel Aviv, Israel, with the event this year focusing on supporting and rejuvenating tourism, despite the ongoing war.

The exhibition was opened by the Minister of Tourism of Israel, Haim Katz, who extended his gratitude to all participating countries, with a special acknowledgment to Greece, emphasizing its prominent role in the event.

Subsequently, he toured the Greek National Tourism Organization’s (GNTO) pavilion, where he was welcomed by the Greek ambassador to Israel, Kyriakos Loukakis, along GNTO and tourism ministry officials.

The aim of the Greek pavilion is to attract even more Israeli travelers to Greece. According to estimates from Israeli tourism professionals and media representatives, Israeli interest in visits and holidays in Greece continues unabated, even while the military campaign against the Hamas terrorist group in Gaza continues.

The Israeli market ranks seventh in terms of foreign tourist arrivals in Athens for the January to July 2023 period, recording the second-highest growth rate in passenger traffic and tourist arrivals, with 81% of Israelis traveling to Greece for tourism purposes, 9% for business and another 9% for visits to friends and relatives.
