Greek authorities assured all the visitors in Greece would return safely to their homes

Greek authorities are on alert after a major German Tour Operator, FTI Touristik – the 3rd largest in Europe – filed for bankruptcy, ready to assist in the safe return of any travelers in Greece who had used the bankrupt tour operator.

The Greek National Tourism Organization’s (GNTO) office in Germany is engaged in continuous meetings, while in Athens, Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni is keeping open channels of communication with all relevant parties.

It is estimated that there are about 7,500 foreign visitors currently in Greece who arrived through FTI, which filed for bankruptcy earlier today. Reliable sources indicate that these 7,500 visitors will return to their home countries after completing their planned holidays.
