According to official data, 636,866 passengers were handled in February compared to 558,903 last year, with all airports showing positive growth.

The German company manages 14 regional airports in Greece including Aktion, Chania, Corfu, Kavala, Cephalonia, Thessaloniki, Zakynthos, Kos, Mytilene, Mykonos, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini, and Skiathos.

Domestic traffic witnessed a 15% rise compared to last year, while international traffic also saw a positive spike, increasing by 12.1% compared to 2023.

In particular, the airports of Aktion and Corfu saw triple-digit rises of 212% and 114%, respectively, with Samos and Kaval airports recording the smallest increases compared to last year.

International traffic recorded a larger percentage increase at 11.1% compared to the same period in 2023.

Aktion (71%) and Corfu (52%) experienced the highest percentage rise. In absolute numbers, Thessaloniki, Chania, and Rhodes airports led the way again.

Hotel owners were optimistic about this year’s season, judging by the feedback from their participation in the International Tourism Fair ITB. Almost all destinations have reported an uptick in bookings of up to 10% compared to the same period last year, a trend that, if continued, signifies a new record for Greek tourism in both arrivals and revenue.
