Overall, in the first three months of the year, airport traffic reached 5.2 million passengers, representing a 16.5% increase. Domestic and international passenger traffic saw increases of 10.3% and 19.4% respectively.

The number of flights at Athens International Airport during the first three months of 2024 reached 46,334, marking a 12.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Domestic flights and international flights saw rises of 6.5% and 17.5% respectively compared to 2023.

Meanwhile, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels reports that over 32.73 million tourists visited Greece in 2023.

Bank of Greece (BoG) recent data revealed that the travel balance experienced a surplus of 112.6 million euros in January 2024, while travel receipts increased by 27.1%. Concurrently, inbound travel traffic increased by 16.0%.
