Persistent rains and cooler conditions expected in Athens, Thessaloniki into the weekend.

The weather in Greece on Friday will be rainy, with localized storms and snowfall in certain areas, while temperatures are expected to improve.

Greece continues to experience harsh winter conditions, with very low temperatures expected to persist through mid-February. 

An emergency severe weather warning is expected to be issued tomorrow by the Greek Meteorological Service

Heavy rains, snow and strong winds may disrupt Christmas travel plans in Greece.

A low-pressure storm, called 'Elena' will hover over Greece on Christmas Eve and Christmas, bringing much needed rain.

Early forecast for period leading up to Christmas Day cites Cold Front, with the possibility of snowfall in the mountainous regions of the country

Rain, snow and cold are expected to set the wintery scene for most of Greece over the weekend as November comes to an end.

The weather will start to improve from the north during the weekend, as rain will gradually shift southward.  On Saturday, the eastern mainland and the Aegean will be most affected by the bad weather.
