Apples and chestnut producers in Larissa held a tractor rally alleging they have not received the promised compensation from the floods that wrecked the area last year after storm Daniel.

The Greek police have ordered the closure of Korydallos and Maniatika stations, on the Athens metro line 3, due to a protest scheduled in the area at that time.

The center of Athens is expected to be inaccessible from 11:00am until the evening today, on account of protests

A second organized protest has been scheduled for this afternoon

They are seeking compensation for lost income due to olive crop failure, demanding it be set at €200 per acre for all affected regions

Protests will be accompanied by road and public transportation closures and significantly increased police presence
