"Today is a good day for Europe," the President of the European Commission said in a post on X regarding the approval over her proposed College of Commissioners
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has introduced a fresh set of hiring rules for the incoming crop of EU commissioners.
Henry Foy, the Financial Times’ Brussels Bureau chief, noted to To Vima, Ursula von der Leyen "has managed to assemble a team that, even despite political differences, looks set to dance to her tune."
Additionally, she pointed out the gender balance in her team, with 11 women making up 40% of the European Commissioners, though she remarked that when the initial nominations were submitted, the figure stood at just 22%.
