Retail businesses in the food and fuel sectors posted a turnover of €6.82 billion in Q3 2024, a 1.2% increase compared to €6.73 billion in Q3 2023
The index in September 2024 recorded a decrease of 2.9% compared with August 2024.
According to recent data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), the General Index of Construction Material Prices for New Residential Buildings rose by 5.5%.
GDP at constant prices reached €196.984 billion in 2023, up from €192.495 billion in 2022, ELSTAT said
The largest decrease was recorded in the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sectors, at 4.4%. Retail trade also showed a decrease of 0.7%
These trends are largely attributed to a significant drop in energy prices, despite some fluctuations, along with a softening in food prices.
The total number of individuals without work in the country amounted to 444,402, marking a decrease of 90,496 persons in comparison with August 2023.

The highest average annual expenditure was recorded in the Attica region, amounting to 23,325.96 euros, while the lowest was in Central Greece, at 14,052.24 euros.
Both the islands of Mykonos and Santorini saw decreases in their accommodation and food service revenues.
The data concerns companies maintaining double-entry bookkeeping, and for which monthly data are available.

The Total Building Activity (private and public) in Greece, in May 2024, based on the issued building permits, amounted to 2,065.
This is an increase of 4.3% compared with the second quarter of 2023 when the respective turnover was 17.37 billion euros
Month-over-month, the General Index rose by 2.1% in June 2024 compared to May 2024, a notable jump from the 0.5% increase recorded in the same period of the previous year.
According to ELSTAT, revenues in the two sectors increased overall, but Mykonos and Santorini reported a steep decline
