Stefanos Tsitsipas on Tuesday announced that he won’t be available for the Greek team against Egypt for the Davis Cup playoffs, saying instead he will play at the ABN AMRO Open for 2025.

The top Greek tennis player in the world picked up a wildcard for the Rotterdam tournament, and chose to compete in the Netherlands.

In a statement, the 26-year-old player nevertheless said he is looking forward to again play for the national side.

In a post on X, the Dutch organizers of the tournament wrote that “…After a year away, Stefanos Tsitsipas will return to the ABN AMRO Open for 2025. The No. 13 in the PIF ATP Rankings has received a wild card for the indoor hard-court ATP 500, which this year takes place at Rotterdam Ahoy from 3 to 9 February.”
