The area around the Stade de France in Paris, the main venue for the Paris Olympic Games, has been cordoned off by French police following reports that a suspicious package was detected.
The Saint-Denis-Porte railway station in the French capital has also been closed.
A special bomb squad is expected to arrive on the scene to assess the situation and determine the level of the threat.
Multiple Olympic track and field events, including today’s, are held at Stade de France in the Paris Olympic Games.
The stadium was reportedly empty when authorities issued the warning, as the initial track and field events concluded at 1:00 PM and were scheduled to resume at 6:00 PM. The stadium can accommodate over 80,000 people.
