Greece’s Maria Sakkari achieved a comfortable victory against Montenegro’s Danka Kovinić with a 2-0 set score (6-0, 6-1) in the first round of the Olympic tennis tournament in Paris and on day 2 of the games.

The Greek tennis player had complete control of the match and progressed to the second round of the women’s singles at the Olympic Games, where she will face the winner of the Ekaterina Alexandrova vs. Yue Yuan match.

In the first set, Sakkari was dominant, not conceding a single game and winning 25 out of the 32 points played in total.

This is Sakkari’s second participation in the Olympic Games, following Tokyo, where she reached the third round but was defeated by Elina Svitolina.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis also watched Maria Sakkari’s effort, with his wife Mareva holding a large Greek flag.
