Norway’s Bodo/Glimt lies between Olympiacos FC, last year’s Conference League champions, and the quarter finals of the Europa League following a UEFA draw on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland.
The first game will be played on Thursday, March 6 at the Bodo municipality’s small Aspmyra Stadion (roughly 8,200 seats), with the second-leg coming a week later at Olympiacos’ Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in the coastal Neo Faliro district.
The popular Greek side finished in seventh place in the competition’s League Phase, thereby avoiding the playoff phase.
Should Olympiacos overcome the Norwegian Eliteserien champions, the club will face the qualifier from the Viktoria Plzen-Lazio matchup.
While still unknown to many European fans, Bodo/Glimt has recorded a meteoric rise in Norwegian football over the past six years, winning the championship four times and coming in second twice.
Another Greek football team, Panathinaikos, drew well-known Seria A club Fiorentina in the group of “16” in the Conference League.
The first leg will be played at the Athens Olympic Stadium on March 6, while decider will be played at the Franchi in Florence a week later on March 13.
