Olympiacos FC has risen to the 25th position in the all-time UEFA Ranking due to their victory in the Europa Conference League this year.
The “Red & Whites” is the most successful Greek football club in European football from the 1955/56 season, when European club competitions were first launched, up to the completion of the 2023/24 season.
UEFA has published the updated all-time ranking list of clubs, with Olympiacos FC taking the 25th spot with 82,250 points, rising significantly in the rankings due to their victory in the Europa Conference League.
As for the rest of the Greek Big-4, Panathinaikos FC is far behind in the 42nd place with 63.900 points, followed by PAOK Thessaloniki in 66th place with 45,583 points, and AEK Athens in 70th place with 44,492 points.
The 2023/2024 season was the most successful for the Olympiacos franchise, and the most successful for any Greek club, as in April, the Youth U-19 team won, for the first time, the UEFA Youth League Championship, while the men’s team followed by winning the UEFA Europa Conference League in Athens in a memorable match against Italian club Fiorentina.
The pivotal moment in the final came when the Conference League’s top goal-scorer, Moroccan striker Ayoub El Kaabi, darted the ball past a defender and Fiorentina’s keeper in extra time (116th minute) to score his 11th goal in nine matches. El Kaabi, the game’s MVP, touched a curving cross from Santiago Hezze from the left side and past the hands of Pietro Terracciano. Players and fans were on edge for several minutes for a VAR check to confirm that no offside was evident.
