Olympiacos BC has filed an official complaint to the Euroleague against Panathinaikos BC star Kendrick Nunn alleging the guard used an offensive hand gesture towards the home fans during a game last week in Piraeus for the Euroleague competition.

Cameras captured the Pana player making an inappropriate gesture toward the Olympiacos crowd, an action that escaped the attention of the referees officiating the match. The American player was caught on camera raising his middle fingers toward the Olympiacos fans after scoring a basket. However, the incident did not escalate, and the game proceeded without further issues.

On March 15, a day after the match, Olympiacos officially filed a complaint regarding Nunn’s gesture, requesting his punishment based on the league’s disciplinary regulations. The Euroleague will now examine the case and decide about any potential sanctions against Kendrick Nunn after the competition’s independent sports judge reviews the matter.

Panathinaikos fell short of completing a comeback against Olympiacos, suffering a 76-74 defeat at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in the 29th round of the EuroLeague.

The Reds are currently sitting top of the table in Europe’s elite club basketball competition, and following the win against their arch-rivals Panathinaikos secured home-court advantage in the playoff matches scheduled to start after the end of the Euroleague’s regular season.

Olympiacos’s tenacious defense frustrated the former NBA sharpshooter at the Friendship & Peace stadium as Nunn, who averages over 20 points per game, only managed to score 5 on the night.
