Spanish coach José Luis Mendilibar was announced this past week as the new head coach that will assume the reins of Olympiacos FC.
Mendilibar, a veteran manager with a noteworthy tenure in several La Liga clubs, saw his new team post a convincing home victory over OFI Crete a day earlier, 4-0, in a Super League matchup.
His most prominent stint as head coach was with SD Eibar between 2015 to 2021. Mendilibar won the UEFA Europa League cup last year with Sevilla.
As a midfielder, he played for a decade and a half with a handful of teams, mostly in northern Spain’s Basque Country.
