According to sports media reports, Premier League powerhouse Chelsea FC and German giants Bayern Munich FC are the latest European football clubs queuing up for Greek prodigy Konstantinos Karetsas.

Following the teenager’s exceptional performance against Scotland last month with the Greek national team, where he scored a gem of a goal, helping his country get promoted to the top tier of the Nations League, the 17-year-old drew the attention of scouts and managers from the best leagues in Europe.

A report by German newspaper Bild reported that the Genk plater is drawing attention from European giants Bayern Munich and Chelsea, with talks already underway.

Bayern’s head coach, Vincent Kompany—well-versed in Belgian football—has openly expressed his admiration for the young talent. However, according to Bild’s reporter covering the story, it is Chelsea who has taken the lead in the race, having already initiated contact with the player’s representatives.

“Vincent Kompany likes Konstantinos Karetsas. Bayern has him on their list, but they haven’t yet made contact with the Belgian side. Chelsea, however, from what I hear, is already in discussions with the player’s camp,” the reporter noted.

In addition to Bayern and Chelsea, a slew of other top clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Bologna, Udinese, and Borussia Dortmund, are all reportedly monitoring the highly-rated youngster.

Karetsas is under contract with Belgian side Genk until June 2027 and is currently valued at €13 million.
