Greek Footballer Among Top European Talents

The "Golden Boy" is an award established by Tuttosport that is given by sports journalists to a young male footballer playing in Europe perceived to have been the most impressive during a calendar year.

Greek football talent, Alexis Kalogeropoulos was featured in the shortlist of the Italian newspaper’s “Tuttosport” 2024 prestigious annual “Golden Boy” award which tracks the best up-and-coming European players under the age of 21.

The 19-year-old central defender, who plays on loan from Olympiakos FC at Volos FC, was placed among the top young players by “Tuttosport” as one of the contenders for the award which has been running since 2003.

The Greek is up against some big names which include Lamin Yamal (Barcelona), Warren Zaire-Emery (Paris Saint-Germain), and Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United). In 2023, the award went to Jude Bellingham.
