Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsistipas will face Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in the French quarter finals after defeating Italy’s M. Arnaldi in 4th round on Sunday.
Tsitsipas dropped the first set (3-6) in his match against Arnaldi but came back strong taking the 3 next sets (7-6, 2-6, 2-6) to clinch a spot in the Roland Garros final 8 where he will meet Alcaraz for a spot in the semi-final.
The Spaniard has never lost from Tsistipas in their 5 previous encounters, holding as 5-0 record against the 9th ranked Greek.
Follwoing his match with Arnaldi, Tsitipas said in the on-court interview that he hoped to make him [Alcaraz] feel more uncomfortable this time. “That is my goal going into the match, and I hope to take advantage of my opportunities and play in a nice atmosphere like today. These are the moments you want as a tennis player.”

The 25-year-old Greek reached the French Open final in 2021 and the Australian Open final in 2023 where he suffered defeats at the hands of Novak Djokovic.
