Bronze medalist in pole vault competition tapped for honor; javelin thrower Tzengo competes in final on Saturday at Day 15 of Paris Olympics

Greece’s bronze medalist in the Paris 2024 Olympics, pole vaulter Emmanouil Karalis, will be the country’s flag-bearer in the closing ceremony of the XXXIII Olympiad on Sunday evening, according to an announcement by the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) on Saturday, Day 15 of the Games.
Karalis placed third in the Paris Olympic Games after completely a successful attempt at 5.90 meters.

The country’s presence in the competition on Saturday, Day 15, features three appearances, with the women’s water polo team finishing in seventh place after defeating Canada 19-10 in the morning.

Later in the evening, with Sofia Malkogeorgou and Evangelia Platanioti of Team Greece competing in the women’s duet free artistic swimming event.

Finally, 21-year-old Elina Tzengko will compete in the women’s final in the javelin on Saturday evening in Paris. A throw close to her personal best of 68.81 meters will bring her in contention for a medal, according to many athletics analysts.
