Tennis legend Rafael Nadal has announced in a video that he will be retiring from tennis at the end of the season.

The 38-year-old player, who is considered one of the three greats in the sport along with Djokovic and Roger Federer, has won 22 Grand Slam titles in his illustrious career.

Nadal will appear on court for the last time for Spain in the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga.

In a video message released on Thursday, Nadal said: “I am here to let you know I am retiring from professional tennis.

“The reality is that it has been some difficult years, the last two especially.

“I don’t think I have been able to play without limitations.”
