24-year-old sprinter Athanasios Ghavelas celebrated his second gold medal at the Paris Paralympics yesterday, alongside his guide Ioannis Nyfantopoulos, after finishing first in the men’s 100 meters (T11) final.

Ghavelas made history by securing back-to-back Paralympic golds, crossing the finish line with a time of 11.02 seconds. This victory follows his remarkable performance at the Tokyo 2021 Paralympics, where he set a world record of 10.82 seconds in the same event, guided by Sotirios Gkaragkanis.
French sprinter Adolphe Timothee claimed the silver medal with a time of 11.05 seconds, while China’s Di Dongdong earned bronze, clocking in at 11.08 seconds.
