The first real sign of winter has arrived in Greece with a sharp drop in temperatures and early snow making its presence felt. Snow has already been reported in the mountains of Evia and is expected to dust Mount Parnitha later today.

Across the country, cloudy skies will bring localized rain, particularly in Evia and the southern Aegean, gradually tapering off to Crete by the afternoon. Thunderstorms are likely in the Dodecanese during the morning, while the rest of the country will experience clearer conditions.

Winds from the north will blow at 4–6 Beaufort, intensifying to 7 Beaufort in parts of the Aegean.

Temperatures are notably lower, with highs reaching 10–12°C in northern regions, 15–17°C in the Ionian and western mainland, and 13–15°C across other mainland areas. The Aegean islands will see highs of 16–17°C, with southern Crete and the Dodecanese slightly warmer at 17–18°C.

Ιntermittent clouds and light rain are expected in the northern and eastern suburbs of Athens, with brief snow possible on Mount Parnitha. Winds will ease from 5–6 Beaufort later in the day, with temperatures ranging from 8–13°C, slightly cooler in northern areas.

Thessaloniki will enjoy clear skies, with winds subsiding after a breezy start at 5–6 Beaufort, and temperatures between 5–11°C. As Greece feels the full grip of winter, the cold is expected to persist, with gradual improvement forecast for the days ahead.
