Citizens and tourists woke up to noticeably colder temperatures this morning which will continue into Friday afternoon, accompanied by wind and sporadic rain and storms across the country.
Storms are increasingly likely along the coast of Greece’s central Macedonia region, the Sporades islands, Evia and the northeast Aegean. Snow is expected in Greece’s northern Epirus region, as well as while higher elevations in western Macedonia and Sterea Ellada. The rest of the country will likely be blanketed in clouds that could be accompanied by showers.
Winds range from 4-7 Beaufort with higher gusts of up to 8 Beaufort anticipated in the north Aegean region.
Temperatures will range between -1 to 11 degrees Celsius in the north, with the rest of the country between 5- 16 degrees Celsius. Icy conditions are expected in the morning and evening in the northwest of Greece.
