The weather in Greece will be characterized by foul autumn-like weather in the western parts of Greece today, and by Wednesday, it will have affected the entire country.
Yet for today Monday September 9, scattered clouds are expected over the mainland by midday with thicker clouds in the west, where local rains will start from the morning.
In the evening, strong thunderstorms will occur in the Ionian Islands and the coastal areas of Epirus and western Sterea Ellada.
Later in the evening, the phenomena will move further east.
After a prolonged period of high temperatures, we are returning to normal values for this time of year. The temperature will reach 30°C in the north, 32-33°C in the rest of the mainland, and around 30-32°C for maximum temperatures in the Aegean.
Winds at sea will blow with intensities of up to 5-6 Beaufort. In the Ionian, they will be southerly, and in the Aegean, northerly.
Weather in Attica & Thessaloniki
In Attica, clouds are expected from the morning, which will be temporarily more intense from midday onwards. The temperature will reach 32°C, and the winds will be northerly at 2-4 Beaufort, turning southerly in the evening.
In Thessaloniki, increased cloudiness is expected throughout the day. The temperature will reach 29°C, and the winds will be southeast at 4-5 Beaufort.
