Generally clear weather in Greece is forecasted for Thursday, with scattered clouds across Greece that will grow denser in the northwestern regions of the country. Rainfall may occur until the afternoon in the Ionian and eastern Aegean, Epirus regions, western central Greece, and Thrace.
Temperatures are expected to record an unusual rise for mid-October, experiencing a 4-5 degree increase from the seasonal average, reaching 27-29 degrees Celsius in the north of Greece and 30-32 degrees in the eastern mainland. The islands will also see daily highs of up to 27-30 degrees Celsius, the highest being in the southern Aegean.
Winds will blow from the southwest at 3-5 points on the Beaufort scale.
Attica will be mostly sunny, with scattered clouds forecast to appear throughout the day. Temperatures will range from 19 to 30 degrees and winds will blow from the west-southwest at 2-4 Beaufort.
Similar weather is expected in Thessaloniki, with the forecast reporting the appearance of sporadic cloud formations, mostly in the morning. Temperatures will range from 18 to 28 degrees and light variable winds will blow in the Thermaic Gulf at 2-3 Beaufort.
The clear spring-like weather is expected to take a turn for a more seasonal one in the coming days, as rain is forecasted both on Friday and the start of the weekend on Saturday.
Despite the deterioration in the weather in Greece, temperatures are actually expected to increase as the weekend arrives.
In October, the average daily temperatures in Greece generally range from around 18°C to 24°C. The southern part of Greece tends to be slightly warmer than the northern regions.
