Greece is expecting rain and storms in many regions of the country, and cooler temperatures

Greece is still cooling-off from last week’s heatwave with rains and storms forecast in many regions of the country and lower temperatures.

Weather alerts have been issued, warning of high winds, hail and storms in Central and Eastern Macedonia, the Sporades region and Evia.

Winds will blow from the north 3-5 Beaufort but up to 6 in the some regions, with temperatures between 33-35 Celsius. Only the Dodecanese will be warmer at 37 degrees.

In Attica the weather will be generally clear with some clouds midday in the afternoon hours, which will turn into showers and thunderstorms. Winds will blow from the north at 4-5 Beaufort and temperatures will be between 23-35 degrees Celsius, and a bit cooler on the coasts.

Thessaloniki will start the day with showers and local thunderstorms, clearing up from noontime. Winds will also be between 4-5 Beaufort, but stronger in the morning hours. Temperatures will also be between 23-33 degrees Celsius.
