Today the weather in Greece will be generally clear throughout the country, with plenty of sunshine. As midday approaches, sparse clouds will develop, which will be denser in the mountainous areas.
Scattered local rains and showers are forecast until the afternoon, mainly in the mountains, from Thrace to the Peloponnese.
On the islands, the intervals of sun will be longer but rain is expected from midday in the northern Aegean and the Dodecanese.
The temperature will range between 30-34 degrees Celsius in northern Greece and 35-36 degrees Celsius in the rest of the mainland. The islands will be a bit cooler, between 30-33 degrees.
The winds in the Ionian Sea will be variable at 3-4 Beaufort and in the Aegean it will blow from the north at an intensity of 3-5, very locally and 6 Beaufort.
In Attica, a few scattered clouds are forecast in the afternoon, but the weather will be generally clear with plenty of sunshine. The temperature will range from 24 – 35 degrees and winds will blow between 3 – 6 Beaufort, with stronger winds on the east side of the country.
In Thessaloniki, the day will start with sunshine. At noon and until the afternoon, temporary clouds are forecast. The temperature will range between 23 – 32 degrees, and southerly winds up to 5 Beaufort, which will be stronger around noontime.
