Today, Wednesday, thunderstorms are forecast as the weather in Greece, specifically in central-eastern Macedonia and Thrace, which will weaken by midday.
In the rest of the country, including the Ionian Islands, mainland Greece, and Crete, the day will start off clear and gradually change to cloudy by midday. Local showers of moderate intensity and temporary thunderstorms in the mountainous areas are also in the cards.
Improvement in the weather is expected from late afternoon onwards, especially during the evening. The islands of the Aegean, except Crete, will experience more sunshine throughout the day.
Temperatures will not change significantly. In the eastern and southern mainland areas, temperatures will reach 35 – 36°C by midday, while in the rest of the country, they will range between 30 – 33°C.
Winds in the seas will be from the northwest at 3 – 5, locally reaching up to 6 Beaufort, with only the southern Aegean experiencing a westerly flow up to 6 Beaufort.
In Attica, the weather will initially be clear, but during the midday and afternoon hours, clouds and local showers are expected. The temperature will reach up to 34°C. In the eastern suburbs, maximum temperatures will drop to 30°C, with variable winds at 3 – 4 Beaufort.
In Thessaloniki, rain and morning thunderstorms are expected, which will be locally strong until late morning. The weather will gradually improve from midday, with only local rain, and by evening, it will be clearer. The temperature will reach up to 33°C, with north winds at 3 – 4 Beaufort, gradually shifting to the south in the afternoon.
