The weather scene is changing in Greece today as rain and storms are forecasted across the country following the high temperatures of the previous days. The phenomena are expected to be more intense in the northern Ionian, Epirus, Macedonia, and Thrace regions, while the transport of African dust is favored.
Winds will blow from the south-southeast at 4 to 6 Beaufort in the seas, turning from midday and from the west to west directions with the same intensity. Temperatures will experience a slight decrease across the country and will not exceed 23 to 26 degrees Celsius.
A closer look at the weather in Greece today:
Clouds temporarily increased with a chance of localized showers until the afternoon is expected in Attica. The winds will be blowing from southerly directions 3 to 5, and from the afternoon westward 4 to 5 Beaufort. Temperature is expected to range from 16 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Intermittently increased clouds with localized showers or isolated thunderstorms are forecast for Thessaloniki. The weather is expected to improve in the evening hours. The winds will blow southerly southeast 3 to 5 Beaufort, becoming westerly with the same intensity in the evening hours. Temperature will range from 14 to 24 degrees Celsius.
In the western, northern, and eastern island regions, clouds are forecasted to be temporarily increased with localized showers, mainly in the northeastern parts in the morning hours, possibly with isolated thunderstorms.
In the rest of the country, there will be mostly clear weather with few clouds temporarily increasing, mainly during midday and afternoon hours. Concentrations of African dust will gradually be limited to the east. Winds will blow west-southwesterly at 4 to 6, locally reaching 7 Beaufort in the southern Aegean.
Temperature will experience a slight decrease in the western, central, and northern regions, reaching 18 to 21 degrees Celsius in the northwest and 22 to 24 degrees Celsius in the rest of the mainland and the island regions.
