Weapons Cache Found in House in Athens’ Acharnes

An illegal weapons cache was discovered in a house in Archanes, according to a report by SKAI.

The cache included improvised explosive devices, grenades, and other weapons.

The discovery came after police pursued a foreign national found in the area carrying a grenade. While the suspect was apprehended, his accomplice managed to escape.

The man carrying the grenade was arrested and faces multiple charges, including illegal weapons possession.

The Discovery of Weapons

A more detailed investigation by a special division of the West Attica police led to the identification of the house, which was searched under a warrant.

According to the SKAI report, items seized from the house included improvised explosives, grenades, thousands of rounds of ammunition, flares, bulletproof vests, and a bayonet, among other weapons.

The police are still searching for the second suspect.
